Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker – EBD
? Location: Stoke on Trent
? Pay: £32,000 – £38,500 a year (depending on number of sleep in’s)
? Type: Full-time | Includes evenings, weekends & sleep-ins
We create memories and experiences for our children that last a lifetime; where they feel truly loved, cared for, safe and secure.
? Make a Real Difference – And Take Your Next Step in Care
Are you ready to step into a senior role where you can lead, support, and truly change young lives?
We’re Edison Young People, and we provide warm, family-style homes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Right now, we’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to help guide a small, passionate team and create a positive daily routine for the children in our care.
? What the Role Involves
No two days are the same, but your focus will always be on creating a safe, supportive, and positive space for the young people in your care — and leading by example.
You’ll:
- Take the lead on shifts and support the care team
- Be a steady, caring presence for the children
- Help with daily routines — meals, school runs, downtime, and activities
- Use trauma-informed care to build trust and connection
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Keep the house running smoothly and safely — including paperwork and compliance
- Work closely with the Deputy/Registered Manager to build leadership skills
? What You’ll Get from Us
We value your experience — and we make sure you feel it:
- ? £14.70 per hour + £47.25 per sleep-in
- ? Refer-a-friend bonus – earn up to £500!
- ? Blue Light Card – discounts across shops, restaurants & more
- ? Cashback scheme – dental, optical & physio support
- ? Free meals on shift – because we eat together, just like a family
- ? Health Shield – wellbeing, counselling & financial advice
- ? Excellent training and leadership development from day one
- ?? Full induction & continuous mentoring from experienced leaders
? What We’re Looking For
To hit the ground running as a Senior Support Worker, you’ll need:
- Experience working with children or young people in residential care (EBD or similar)
- Calm, confident leadership qualities – you don’t have to be a manager yet, just ready to guide and support others
- A commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred care
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Full UK driving licence and age 21+
- Flexibility for rota work including sleep-ins
? Why Edison?
Because we don’t just talk about making a difference — we live it. You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone looks out for each other. A place where kids learn to trust again, and where staff grow into leaders. This isn’t just a job. It’s a place to build your future and change someone else’s.
? We’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.
? Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
