We're Hiring: SEN Teaching Assistant

? Edison Pace School, Full Time (Term Time + 1 Week)
? £22,604 – £25,224 (pro rata)
? Mon–Thurs 8am–4pm, Fri 8am–3pm

Are you someone who loves working with young people and wants to make a real difference every day?

We’re looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Edison Pace School — a small, nurturing school for students with additional needs like autism, ADHD and social, emotional, or mental health challenges.

No two days are the same here, but every day is rewarding.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting students in the classroom (1:1 or in small groups)
  • Helping them build confidence, independence and enjoy learning
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt lessons and activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour in a calm and caring way
  • Getting stuck in with everything from class activities to school trips
  • Using your creativity to make learning fun and engaging
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff and families

What we’re looking for:

You don’t need to be an expert — just kind, patient, and ready to learn.

We’d love it if you have:

  • Some experience working with children or young people
  • GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Maths
  • Good communication skills and a sense of humour
  • Confidence using basic IT
  • An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) SEND and safeguarding

Extra bonus if you’ve worked in a school or have a TA qualification, but it’s not essential.

Why Edison Pace?

We’re not your average school. We keep things small, calm and personal so every student can thrive — and every staff member feels supported.

We offer:

  • Ongoing training (autism, trauma, Zones of Regulation, and more)
  • A positive and caring team culture
  • Opportunities to grow and take on more responsibility
  • A place where your ideas and input really matter

We’re committed to keeping children safe. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
