Trainer – Learning & Development

Location: Based in Stoke on Trent with the expectation of travel to sites across East & West Midlands

Salary: £35,000 - £39,500 DOE

Edison Young People is recruiting a Trainer to deliver high-quality learning across our children’s residential services. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing others and confident delivering engaging, compliant and impactful training.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing & Delivering Impactful Training

  • Create and deliver blended learning solutions that build capability across our care services.
  • Support the development of training programmes aligned to our L&D strategy and annual plan.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise across mandatory training, behavioural skills, leadership development, digital systems training and more.
  • Partner with managers to improve mandatory training compliance and embed best practice.

Leading Our Induction Experience

  • Develop and deliver a high-quality induction programme that supports new colleagues to thrive from day one.
  • Evaluate induction effectiveness using feedback, performance and retention data.
  • Ensure compliance training and on-the-job learning are engaging, relevant and clearly evidenced.

Driving Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct training needs analyses across functions to identify key learning priorities.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness, track ROI and manage quality assurance of internal training delivery.
  • Maintain accurate training records within the LMS and ensure all content meets regulatory and governance standards.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Training delivery experience (preferably within social care).
  • Level 3+ Teaching & Training qualification.
  • Experience delivering compliance or regulatory training.
  • Confident in the full training cycle (plan, deliver, evaluate).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience using LMS or e-learning platforms.
  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
